Avast and Malware Bytes both installed okay?

So I heard that having more than one anti virus program interferes with your computer. So I'm wondering if its okay to have both Avast and Malware Bytes installed (both are the free versions) since I don't think Malware Bytes has any active firewalls. Any suggestion are greatly appreciated!
