Buying a new used car from a dealership?

So I am thinking about buying a car from sole savers dealership. The car I am looking at is a Ford escape 2001 it has 116000 miles on it and is manual. The person I talked to said it had no extras and that they did not know if it was an xls or an xlt. They are asking 11,500 for it blue book for the xlt in my area is $7750 ouch big difference. My question is how much do you think I can talk them down on price and what is the best way to do this? I thought about printing out the bluebook sheet and taking it with me. Being female I want to make sure that even if I do not buy from them I am not being taken advantage of.
