What is the plot of halo 4 which was recently announced?

I actually thought they ended the sequel (after REACH) however after they recently announced halo 4 which is a sequel to halo 3, I was shocked. Can somebody explain the plot of the game? Is the halo rings still mentioned in the game's story?
