Ipod touch problem! Please help!!!?

Ok, so i was in school and my ipod i accidentally hit the itunes icon. It went to that and said no wifi so i went of and decided to reset my ipod(it does not play out loud unless i do that) and it went back on about 15 minutes later and it went right to the connect to itunes screen. Its been like this for a bout two days. I tried plugging it into my computer and it said i needed to put in my passcode but i cant get to that screen. I put it in DFU mode and it is still in recovery mode. Its been like that for about 10 minutes now. Ok, so all i is is a black screen. Is that recovery mode? I really need help and also, if i press restore on itunes will i loose all my ipod memory? Thanks sooooo much in advance! You are all life savers!
