Is installing a 64-bit version of Windows 7 going to change some video device issues on my computer?

I recently had a new hard drive installed on my computer, to which Windows 7, the 32-bit version was installed. My computer is compatible with the 64-bit version. Since these changes on my computer, I noticed that I am limited to some personalization options that I had before. For example, I can no longer change the color of the task-bar. None of the screen-savers are available now and most of the games that come with Windows 7 don't work or are really slow. Would these work again if I installed the 64-bit version of Windows 7?

Backsavers for horseback riding? Advice anyone?

I have broken my back and was told I would never ride again...once I was able to walk properly it didn't take me long to figure out how to get back to riding. I wear a brace similar to that and it helps to support the part of my back where the muscles were ripped. Unfortunately the pain usually sets in after about an hour and I have to get off. A body protector doesn't have the support that the back saver does but it wouldn't be a bad idea to where both in combination. And yes, I always hold in the back of my mind that if I come off wrong I have a chance of being a paraplegic. Problem with XP Security 2012?

Recently i had this on my desktop dell and I thought I successfully got rid of it when I downloaded Malware Bytes but I uninstalled it because it was messing up my computer when i didn't delete the processes as soon as possible. Now its on my computer again and I canlt open any files or go onto internet browsers. I also tried to reinstall Mbam but it doesn't allow me. I play my PS3 all the time, and Sony recently announced a Playstation themed 3dtv. That's nice and all, but it's five hundred dollars (I have a VERY limited budget). Iphone got wet and now battery drains rapidly?

So not long after I redeployed back to germany from Afghanistan, I dropped my Iphone into a puddle of water. Typical thing happened, it shut down. I can not return it, because in my hysteria of trying to believe that it was okay and just "sleeping", I opened it up dried up as much of the insides as i could, and my guess would be that i broke whatever warranty that I didn't break by having it jailbroken during the deployment. Now everything is like 99.999% great, there's no touch issues, camera issues, sound, signal, nothing issues in any of the majors areas. The phone still charges, still syncs, and still connects to Ipod docks. The issue is though, that the battery dies (doesn't get hot or anything) just dies, really rapidly. The phone sometimes announces that something is connected that's not optimized for Iphone, and this happens when NOTHING is connected. My initial guess was that dust or water got on the connector port, is making contact with two connectors, and making the phone keep trying to send out power or something to the connector. I've tried cleaning the connectors to no avail. I can't even turn the phone off to save battery, it'll turn itself back on to tell me about my imaginary device that's not compatiable. What's left for me to do?

One of my best friends had been through alot in her life, she has lost her dad, all her grandparents, and has some anxiety problems, and is sometimes the 'odd' one in the crowd. Internet says it is connected, but it is not.?

I recently reinstalled Windows 7 on my machine. It used to work fine until my friend downloaded some Mallware, so I had to do a system wipe. All of my drivers are updated. When I go into the network sharing center, everything looks right. I can connect to my unsecured wireless network and it says everything is fine. But when i go onto the internet, it will work for about 20 seconds then just stop. It will come back on after a minute or so but still only last 20 seconds. If I try to download anything, it fails because of this. I put mallware bytes on a flash drive and ran a full scan and it did not turn up anything. Thanks for the help.

So, my fiance's sister got engaged in February, we just got engaged. They are getting married in Sept. 2012, we wanted to also but are respecting her feelings and getting married in July 2012. All my documents and pictures gone after virus?

So, I got myself a lovely little virus on my computer a couple nights ago, and Malware bytes got it and cleaned it, as well as Microsoft Security Essentials. I've had these before, but never quite so aggressive. It started with a little window requesting my permission for something, so, out of instinct, I just closed it. However, less than a second later it popped up again. Then came a window saying hard drive failure. It took me forever to get task manager open, then malware bytes. The virus seems to be gone, and my computer says it's clean, but everything is gone. My documents and pictures have all disappeared, but my iTunes and skype/msn messenger/gmail are all still in tact. I would really like to have all of my stuff back, and everything online is using terms that I've never even seen before. I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT COMPUTERS. If you have advice, act as though you are trying to help your great great grandmother through this issue. Thanks!

Visual Basic downloading files help?

I'm using the "My.Computer.Network.DownloadFile(URL, Where to save)" command, to update my program. And when I upload my files to a file hosting site, at first my program download it fine, but after a couple minutes, I try to update it, and when I try to start the new exe file, it says it is not a valid windows application. But what I really don't get is that I can go to the site and download it manually, and it works. I tried removing the try/catch to see what error it was getting, and and it never gave me an error until it starts the new file using "Process.start(file.exe). so it thinks it downloaded it correctly. And the file size is 0 bytes, so it's just like an empty file or something. Also, I've tried Megaupload.com, 4shared.com, mediafire.com, and Ripway.com, they all do the exact same thing.

Ok, so i was in school and my ipod i accidentally hit the itunes icon. It went to that and said no wifi so i went of and decided to reset my ipod(it does not play out loud unless i do that) and it went back on about 15 minutes later and it went right to the connect to itunes screen. Its been like this for a bout two days. I tried plugging it into my computer and it said i needed to put in my passcode but i cant get to that screen. I put it in DFU mode and it is still in recovery mode. Its been like that for about 10 minutes now. Ok, so all i is is a black screen. Is that recovery mode? Is my computer safe if I Norton blocked a Trojan and the following Malware Bytes scan found nothing?

As the title says in my attempts to watch Star Trek online I got caught up in some nastiness which isn't all that uncommon from free movie sites which led to a Trojan getting on my computer. I have both Nortan Antivirus and Malwarebytes installed and went to work with both. Nortan said that the Trojan was blocked but I have no clue if blocking a Trojan is the same as removing / eliminating the threat of that Trojan so I ran a Malwarebytes quick scan and found nothing. So last Friday I went shopping with my mom and baby niece and I bought 2 packs of�strawberry�creme�savers there tiny hard candy very yummy.lol and I haven't ate that kind of candy in years cause I'm not a fan of "sweets" but anyways I went threw my first pack of candy over the weekend nd well im on my last pack and I can't stop eating this candy it's like I'm craving it all day long and and if I don't have any on hand I will be all moody till I eat one i think I have become addicted to this candy so my question is has this ever happen to anyone else? Left dog in my car!!!?

Yeah, so Yesterday I left my dog in my car for 2 minutes, that is right just 2 minutes and some guy had already called the police by the time I got back........ I went to return a video, and by the time I got back he said I called the police. SO, of course I got in my car and got outta there. I got a yellow lab 4 months, but she was in no danger, just barking because I left her alone for a minute. Was this guy a dick for not even waiting a second to see if I was coming back? I think so. According to the SPCA here in NC, your suppose to go into the store and have them announce it on the loud speaker and then if nobody comes, you suppose to dial 911. He just dialed 911 instantly, and for the record I had the windows cracked, but they were not half way down. If I had she would of got out, or more importantly someone would of stole her, she is the cutest lab. I knew I was just going to be a minute, otherwise I would of left her home. Dell Vostro 1510 Laptop video card?

I've had this laptop for about 3 years now and it has been great for playing games and just overall use. I replaced the hard drive a few months ago and I reinstalled a bunch of games and such but now I keep getting the message that my laptop doesnt meet the requirements to play the game. I've gone on websites like canyourunit.com and it says i have 0 bytes from my video card. I cant even play games that are almost 10 years old like comand and conquer. Is it just time for a new laptop or is there just a malfunction with the video card?

Yahoo and Google Searches Are Being Redirected?

Every time I search on Yahoo, Google and Bing, the results I click on are redirected to another website which is garbage--actually now, I can't even search on Yahoo because it gives me the 999 Error and Google keeps giving me the captche page to deter me away. I have searched for answers but nothing has helped. I have: Spybot Search & Destroy, Malware Bytes, Super AntiSpyware and Spyware Terminator and not one of them has found anything! WoW download question?

why is it that on a speed test i can download at 3.2 mbps, when downloading any other update it usually hits1.5 to 2 mbps and when downloading WoW onto a new computer it never gets above 400 kbps? anyone else have this problem, i mean a byte is still a byte isnt it. does the WoW downloader limit the speed or something?

Computer working problem, msg - dont switch off or unplug power updating 17 of 18 is going on?

it was for several hours nearly a full day it went in this modern times several GBS or GIGA BYTES are installed/copied within a few seconds/minutes why a full day it takes i wonder it was not hanged as i saw some dots moving i was not able to turn off or switch of the computer even if i turn off the power and after some time if i turn on again it is like that only so after nearly one day i get the desktop . againafter a couple of days it shows 3 of four is being up dated and went of for several hours can anybody clarify/suggest whether it is anything like repair ?

Got rid of security center 2012 virus but now none of my applications will open. says' choose program to open"?

I used malware bytes to get rid of the virus. it was hard to even get that to open during the infection. but now, it seems to have gotten rid of it, but when ever I go to open any application (internet explorer, malwarebytes etc...) the 'choose a program to open this application opens. So, when I choose, say, internet explorer to open up...inernet explorer.... it does not work. I have even gone to the program folder and tried opening up the executable file directly, same result. Anyone know what may be wrong?

My screensaver won't show up?

I know I've downloaded it and I know I've set it as my screen saver. But whenever I'm idle it never shows up. Also, I have Windows vista and when I check the control panel to change it, it's not on the list of screen savers. Why isn't it working or showing up?

Is it possible to recover lost data from a hard disk?

I was using a hard disk, and needed to partition it. I also had a spare second hard disk (Model: Maxtor 2B020H1) which I hadnt been using for some years. So I thought I would use this spare hard disk to back up my data from the hard disk i needed to partition. I copied all the data (about 13 GB, mostly pictures) from first to the second hard disk. When I had finished partitioning, I connected the the spare MAXTOR hard disk again to copy back the data, but I was SHOCKED to see that it wasnt opening. I had saved the data on D drive, but now when I try to open it, a message shows up saying that I need to format it because it hasnt been formatted yet. And when I point the mouse on it, it also shows that the size of the data on it is 0 bytes!!! I am afraid that if I do format it, I will lose any chance of recovering the data. May be its also relevant to tell that I ran Windows CHKDSK on it i.e the D drive when I restarted the PC. Pls help. The data was very important.

TDSS - Google redirect virus?

Right so I have a stupid redirect virus. Every time I use Google or another search engine, after clicking on a search result, my request is immediately redirected to a spam page of some form. I have tried multiple malware removal tools such as malwarebytes etc and although malware bytes managed to find some infected files which Norton was unable to, I still have the problem. I have also noticed that there are some files in Appdata/Local called Skipua.exe and whenever I delete these, they are replaced. What seemed to be a minor Trojan that got into my system deleted the entire os. I absolutely need the files and programs from the hard drive (I am a software developer, potentially millions of dollars of unpublished software on that hard drive, it failed during a backup, my luck). Savers tax credit, I have no earned income so I cannot contribute to an IRA, is there anyway to get this?

I am on work mans comp and it looks like I would qualify for this credit this year on income amounts. Last year I found out that you cannot contribute to your IRA wthout EARNED INCOME. I am thinking that maybe I could make some kind of a non deductible IRA contribution of some sort??? Or anyone have another idea? It is really sad the FEDs will not let you make a contribution to an IRA if you are not actively at work. I have investment income and will pay taxes on that, but it is not considered earned income, even though I actively buy and sell stocks...I guess they think it is a TAXABLE HOBBY! Any ideas from you all are appreciated, I hate to leave tax credit unused. I converted part of an old IRA to ROTH Conversion this year, so I will have a large tax bill this year.
